Get your business verified by Meta
Unlock higher WhatsApp limits and lower your ban risk by completing Meta Business Verification.
What you'll learn
- Understand what verification unlocks
- Prepare documents Meta will accept
- Submit verification and fix a rejection
You can connect your WhatsApp number before or after Meta Business Verification. There's no required order. Until you're verified, though, your account stays on Meta's lower limits.
Why verify
- More templates: unverified accounts are capped at 250 message templates. Verified accounts can hold up to 6,000.
- More guests per day: unverified accounts can message roughly 250 unique contacts a day. Verification unlocks the next tier immediately.
- Lower ban risk: Meta treats verified businesses as lower risk.
Verification doesn't grant every WhatsApp API permission. Some features need a separate Meta App Review. These figures were correct in October 2026. Meta's official guide has the current rules.
Before you start
- You need Full control access to the Business Portfolio. Lower roles can't start verification.
- Prepare your company registration certificate (for example your SSM certificate, or a state licence) plus one document that proves your address. A recent utility bill or bank statement works. It must show a physical address, not a PO box or virtual office.
- If your registration certificate shows a company secretary's address, use a utility bill (a telephone bill works well) for the address you actually operate from.
- The person submitting may be asked for a personal government ID that matches the business details.
- Review takes anywhere from a few hours to 14 business days. Don't resubmit while it's pending. Doing so can send you back to the end of the queue.
Submit verification
- Open Meta Business settings and select the correct business portfolio.
- Open Business info.
- Enter your legal business name exactly as it appears on your documents, including capital letters and punctuation.
- Enter your legal address the same way, matching the documents exactly.
- Enter a business phone number that's publicly listed.
- Enter your business website (on your own domain) and your business email.
- Go to Business verification status and select View details.
- Set two-factor authentication to Admins only.
- Select Start verification, and check every name and address matches your documents.
- At the last step, choose Email as the verification method.
- Submit, then follow the status in Security Center.
If verification is rejected
Rejections almost always come down to one of these:
- The business name doesn't match official records.
- The website is inactive or incomplete.
- The phone number can't be reached.
- The business doesn't appear in public records.
Fix the specific mismatch before you resubmit. Sending the same documents again won't work.
