Lesson 1 of 7 · 6 min
Create a website and business email for Meta
Meta checks your website and email during verification. Here's how to set both up quickly if you don't have them yet.
What you'll learn
- Know why Meta needs a website and an email on your own domain
- Build and publish a simple site that passes Meta's checks
- Create a mailbox that can receive Meta's verification code
Meta verifies your business partly by looking at your website and emailing an address on your own domain. If you already have a website and a business email on that domain, skip this lesson.
Set up a site and mailbox
Any web host works. Hostinger is one option, and StreamHost partners get a discount through this referral link (StreamHost may receive a referral benefit).
- Choose a website plan on an annual billing term (12 months or longer). On Hostinger this is usually Premium or Unlimited. You need a plan that includes a free domain, a free mailbox and an AI website builder. Monthly plans usually don't include these.
- Build your website with the AI builder. You can generate the whole site from one prompt (an example is below).
- Show your full legal business name, address and phone number on the site, in the footer, About page or Contact page. Use exactly the same name, address and phone number as on your company registration certificate (for example your SSM certificate) and the other documents you'll give Meta. Mismatched details are the most common reason verification fails later.
- Publish the site. Saving it as a draft is not enough.
- Wait 30 minutes to a few hours for the domain and SSL certificate to activate. Then check the site loads with https in the address bar.
- Go to Mailboxes and create an address on your domain, such as info@, admin@ or contact@yourdomain.com.
- Log in to the new mailbox and confirm you can send and receive mail. This is where Meta will send your verification code.
Example prompt for the AI builder
Replace the parts in square brackets:
"[BUSINESS NAME] is a [property type, e.g. serviced apartment / boutique hotel / Airbnb management company] based in [CITY, COUNTRY], offering [1–2 features, e.g. self check-in, daily housekeeping] for [guest type, e.g. business travelers and families]. Build a single-page website with a short intro and a contact section. In the contact section and footer, show exactly this text, unchanged: Legal business name: [LEGAL NAME AS ON REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE]. Registered address: [ADDRESS AS ON REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE / UTILITY BILL]. Phone: [PHONE NUMBER]. Do not rephrase, abbreviate, translate, or reformat this — display it exactly as given."
